For many people, technology and yoga seem like two completely different worlds. One is fast-paced, constantly evolving, and driven by innovation, while the other encourages stillness, awareness, and mindful living. For Drishan Puri, however, the two naturally complement each other.

Born and raised at Sadhana Yoga Retreat in Pokhara, Drishan is the son of founders Asanga and Durga. Growing up in a yoga retreat meant that meditation sessions, yoga classes, healthy living, and welcoming guests from around the world were part of everyday life. Rather than discovering yoga later in adulthood, it became a natural part of his upbringing and continues to influence both his personal and professional life today.

Alongside his lifelong connection to yoga, Drishan completed a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology. His interest in technology has enabled him to contribute to the management and development of Sadhana Yoga Retreat while bringing modern digital skills to a family tradition that has been serving international guests for more than 27 years. Today, he manages many aspects of the retreat's operations while also teaching yoga, creating a balance between traditional wellness practices and the demands of a modern business.

To strengthen his teaching qualifications, Drishan completed his internationally recognized RYT 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Rudra Yogpeeth in Rishikesh, India, where he deepened his understanding of Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology. His classes combine the steady foundations of Hatha Yoga with the flowing movement of Vinyasa, making them suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

As part of the younger generation leading Sadhana Yoga Retreat, Drishan often relates to guests who are balancing careers, studies, and busy lifestyles. His own experience reflects that reality. Instead of choosing between technology and yoga, he believes they can support each other when approached with intention.

"I don't see IT and yoga as opposites," he says. "For me, they're the perfect balance. Life is built on duality—black and white, fire and water, movement and stillness. Technology challenges the mind, while yoga helps you slow down and reconnect with yourself. Having both creates balance."

This perspective shapes the way he approaches both work and teaching. Technology helps him solve problems, improve systems, and manage the retreat efficiently, while yoga provides the focus, patience, and clarity needed to navigate everyday challenges. Rather than competing, each discipline strengthens the other.

Outside the yoga studio and his work with technology, Drishan enjoys swimming, cycling, and drawing. These interests reflect his appreciation for creativity, movement, and spending time outdoors in the natural surroundings of Pokhara. Whether teaching a morning Hatha Yoga class, working on digital projects, cycling through the countryside, or sketching in his free time, he believes maintaining a variety of interests contributes to a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

As Sadhana Yoga Retreat continues into its next generation, Drishan represents a modern approach built on traditional foundations. Combining a background in Information Technology with lifelong experience in yoga and an internationally recognized teaching certification, he continues the family legacy established by Asanga and Durga while connecting with a new generation of students seeking both personal well-being and practical balance in today's world.
