about this programme

Sadhana Yoga Retreat’s seven-day, seven-night detox retreat is designed to gently cleanse the body, reset digestion, and create a deep sense of internal lightness. This programme is ideal for those who feel heaviness, digestive discomfort, low energy, or simply wish to give their body a natural break from constant intake and stimulation. The retreat combines mindful fasting, light nourishment, yoga, and traditional yogic cleansing practices in a safe and supportive environment.

During the retreat, guests follow a structured yet gentle approach that includes four days of guided fasting supported by herbal drinks, light juices, and easily digestible foods when needed. This gradual fasting process allows the digestive system to rest while the body begins releasing accumulated toxins. Many participants notice improved clarity, reduced bloating, better sleep, and a natural feeling of lightness as the days progress

.

Yoga and breathing practices are carefully integrated throughout the programme to support the cleansing process. Gentle movements help stimulate digestion, improve circulation, and maintain energy levels without exhausting the body. Meditation sessions also play an important role, helping participants stay calm, aware, and emotionally balanced during fasting.

A key highlight of the retreat is the full gastro-intestinal cleansing day, where participants are guided through the traditional yogic practice of Shankhaprakshalana. This technique involves drinking warm saline water combined with a specific sequence of simple yoga movements that help flush and cleanse the digestive tract. The process is conducted with proper guidance, allowing the system to clear deeply while remaining safe and controlled.

Following the cleansing day, the retreat shifts into a recovery and rebuilding phase. Easily digestible meals are slowly reintroduced to allow the digestive fire to regain strength without shock. This recovery period is essential, helping the body absorb nutrients more efficiently while stabilizing energy levels and supporting long-term digestive health.

Throughout the retreat, guests are encouraged to rest, reflect, and listen to their bodies. The peaceful natural surroundings, simple nourishing meals, and supportive guidance create an environment where healing can happen naturally without pressure or intensity. By the end of the seven days, most participants experience a deep sense of internal cleanliness, improved digestion, mental clarity, and renewed vitality.

This detox retreat is not only about cleansing the stomach — it is a complete reset for the body and mind, offering an opportunity to release heaviness, build healthier eating awareness, and reconnect with a lighter, more balanced way of living.
