about this programme
Our four-day, four-night introductory Hatha Yoga retreat at Sadhana Yoga Retreat offers a gentle and meaningful way to step into the traditional path of yoga. This retreat is ideal for beginners as well as those who want to reconnect with the foundations of practice in a peaceful and supportive environment. Rather than rushing into advanced postures, the focus is on understanding the body, building awareness, and developing a steady and comfortable practice.
Throughout the retreat, you will be introduced to preparatory movements and more than 20 classical Hatha Yoga asanas. These practices are taught slowly and mindfully so you can understand proper alignment, breathing, and relaxation within each posture. The sessions are simple yet deeply effective, helping to release stiffness, improve flexibility, and build strength without strain. Alongside the physical practice, gentle breathing techniques are shared to calm the mind, increase energy, and support emotional balance.
A key part of the experience is the opportunity to truly rest and recover. Steam therapy helps relax muscles, improve circulation, and create a feeling of lightness in the body, while traditional mud baths offer a grounding and cooling effect that many guests find deeply soothing. These natural therapies complement the yoga practice beautifully, supporting detoxification and overall wellbeing.
Nourishing food plays an important role in the retreat journey. Fresh, sattvic meals are prepared with care using simple, wholesome ingredients that are easy to digest and naturally energizing. Guests often notice that eating clean, balanced meals in a peaceful setting helps improve digestion, sleep, and mental clarity. The combination of mindful movement, rest, and proper nourishment allows the body to heal and recharge in a natural way.
This retreat is not only about learning yoga postures — it is about slowing down, reconnecting with yourself, and experiencing a healthier rhythm of living. By the end of the four days, most guests feel lighter in the body, calmer in the mind, and more confident in continuing their yoga journey with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Hatha Yoga.
